Julia Lindau
award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist
Julia is a documentary filmmaker with over a decade of experience producing unscripted content for premium outlets including HBO, Showtime, AMC and VICE. She’s worked in more than a dozen countries, filming everything from true crime series and high-profile interviews to coverage of generation-defining news events like the beginning of COVID-19 and end of Roe v. Wade.
Most recently, Julia ventured into the premium documentary space to produce a four-part docuseries for AMC called The Furry Detectives, which premiered at Tribeca Festival. Prior to that, she was with VICE for seven years. Her work there was recognized with two News & Documentary Emmys and an Overseas Press Club award, among other honors. Before her career in non-fiction storytelling, Julia was an international humanitarian worker in Southern Africa and the Middle East.
